Beetroot Oats Dosa

Beetroot oats dosa step by step instructions:

I always look for how to include beetroot into my daily meals. Dosas being our favourite, today I made beetroot oats dosa.

Beetroot oats dosa is prepared with a combination of beetroot, oats, and sooji as the main ingredient. All good for health and the combination yields a perfect dosa.

You can find my plain dosa recipe here.

Let us start cooking!!!

Ingredients:
Oats: 1 cup
Sooji: 1 cup
Curd: 1 cup
Water: 1 cup (or as required)
Beetroot: 1 big (grated)
Black pepper powder: 2 tsp
Ghee/oil/butter for cooking the dosas
Salt as per taste

Method:
1. Dry roast the oats.

2. When they cool down, grind them in a mixer and make a smooth powder out of it.
3. Add sooji, beetroot, curd, and water. Mix well.
4. Add salt and mix well.

5. Let the batter sit for half an hour.
6. Add black pepper powder and mix well.
7. The consistency of the batter should be just like that of the dosa batter.
8. Heat a tawa.
9. In a bowl take water and dip a small cotton cloth in it.
10. When sufficient hot lower the flame and clean the tawa with the cloth dipped in water.
11. Now pour one ladle of batter on the tawa and spread it in a circular manner to make dosa.

12. Keep the flame on high.
13. Drizzle ghee/oil on the dosa and let it cook. When you start to notice brown spots just flip it and keep for a few seconds.

14. Take out on a plate.
15. Similarly make other dosas also.
16. Always clean the tawa with the wet cloth when you finish making one dosa.
17. Serve hot with green chutney or tomato ketchup.

Tips:
1. The quantity of water can be adjusted after adding the beetroot and curd.
2. If you are using an iron tawa for making dosa then always apply sufficient oil over it and heat it; like 2-3 hours before making dosa. This technique will never let the dosas stick to the tawa.

See you soon with a new recipe till then Happy Cooking!!!
