Uthappam Waffles

Uthappam Waffles step by step instructions:

As you all know my love for the waffle maker ;-), I love to try all possible combinations in it. I had some dosa batter left with me and I was feeling very hungry. So took out the batter, added some chopped onions, tomatoes, and capsicum and cook in the waffle maker. The recipe is ready within minutes.

Ingredients:
Idli/dosa batter: ½ cup
Tomato: 2 tbsp (finely chopped)
Capsicum: 2 tbsp (finely chopped)
Onion: 2 tbsp (finely chopped)
Salt as per taste
Black pepper powder as per taste
Ghee as required

Method:
1. In a bowl mix together the batter, onion, tomato, capsicum, salt, and black pepper powder.


2. Heat a waffle iron and grease it with ghee.

3. Pour the batter into the waffle mould and close the iron.

4. Let cook for 6-7 minutes or depending upon your waffle iron instruction manual.
5. Open it and take out the Uthappam waffle from it carefully.

6. Serve hot with tomato ketchup, chutney, etc.
7. Yummy “Uthappam Waffle” is ready!

Tips:
1. Veggies can be replaced as per one’s choice.
2. The batter should neither be too thick not too thin.
3. If you don’t have a waffle iron then the simplest way is to make the normal uthappams.
