Leftover Kala Chana Baked

Leftover Kala Chana Baked step by step instructions:

I guess many of us love eating “Chana jor Garam”. It reminds me of the famous hindi song “Chana jor Garam babu main laaya majezdaar”, and they are seriously very "majedaar and chataakedar" in short "super tasty". Flattened baked chana with tomato, cucumber, onions, lemon juice, salt, and chaat masala tastes heavenly.
I had made boiled kala chana for my breakfast and intentionally left some for making this baked chana. We just need to flatten them when they are hot (a very important point to remember), otherwise, they won’t get pressed. And then bake them. Store them in an air-tight container and enjoy the lovely chaat whenever you want.

Let us start cooking!!!

Ingredients:
Leftover Boiled kala chana with salt: ½ cup

Method:
1. Press the boiled kala chana with the help of a potato masher. Mash in small batches like 7-8 at a time. It helps in mashing them easily and nicely.

2. Preheat oven at 200° C.
3. Keep the pressed kala chana in a greased baking dish.
4. Keep the baking dish in the oven and bake for around 17-18 minutes at 200° C.
5. Take out from oven and let cool.

6. Enjoy as a snack. Or add some tomatoes and onions and enjoy the chaat.
7. Store in an air-tight container.
8. Delicious and healthy “Leftover Kala Chana Baked” is ready!

Tips:
1. Always press the kala chana when they are hot. Now since mine were leftovers I added a bit of water and boiled the chana covered for few minutes. It made the chana soft.
2. Always press the chana in small batches.
3. The chana can be rolled also with the help of a rolling pin.
4. I had added salt when I had first boiled the chana. It gives a good flavor to the baked flattened chana. Some other spices can also be added while boiling the chana to make them tastier.

See you soon with a new recipe till then Happy Cooking!!!
