Soya Chunks Manchurian

Soya Chunks Manchurian step by step instructions:

This Manchurian is a must make snack/starter for your parties. It can be healthier (if instead of frying the chunks, we bake them). For me, to eat soya chunks as a vegetable is a boring task, because I am not so much in love with the texture of them. But to be very true, the day I started to make this Manchurian I am in absolute love with its taste and texture.

Let us start cooking!!!

Ingredients:
Soya Chunks: 3/4 cup (35 gms)
Ginger: 3-4 cloves (grated)
Garlic: 1/2 inch piece (grated)
Red Chili Powder: 1/2 tsp
Corn Flour: 2 tbsp
Oil for Frying
Salt as per taste
For the Sauce
Oil: 1 tbsp
Ginger: 1/2 inch piece
Garlic: 6-7 cloves (grated)
Onions: 2 medium (finely chopped)
Capsicum: 1 small (finely chopped)
Tomato Ketchup: 1/2 tbsp
Vinegar: 1 tsp
Soya Sauce: 1 tsp
Red Chili Sauce: 1 tbsp
Red Chili Powder: 1/2 tsp
Corn Flour: 3/4 tsp
Water: 1/2 cup
Salt as per taste

Method:
1. In a bowl mix together water and corn flour and keep aside.

2. Boil the soya chunks in enough water. Keep them aside for at least half an hour.

3. Then wash the soya chunks and remove all the excess water by pressing the chunks in between the palms.

4. Add corn flour, red chili powder, ginger, garlic, and salt to the soya chunks. Mix well. If required, add little water so that the corn flour binds the chunks.

5. Keep aside for half an hour.
6. Heat oil in a pan and shallow or deep fry the chunks until crispy.

7. Take them out on a tissue paper and keep aside.
8. In a pan heat oil. Add garlic and ginger and cook until the raw smell has gone.

9. Add the onions and fry until translucent.

10. Add the capsicum and sauté for 2-3 minutes.

11. Add tomato ketchup, red chili sauce, soya sauce, and vinegar. Mix well.

12. Add the corn flour and water mixture to it. Mix well.

13. Add red chili powder and salt. Mix well.

14. Let the sauce thicken a bit.
15. Switch off the flame and let it cool a bit.

16. Add the prepared fried soya chunks and mix well.

17. Serve hot.
18. Delicious “Soya Chunks Manchurian” is ready!

Tips:

1. The soya chunks can be baked instead of frying them.
2. The quantity of chili can be adjusted as per ones taste as this Manchurian is a bit towards spicy side.
3. If corn flour is not available try using APF/maida.

See you soon with a new recipe till then Happy Cooking!!!

    1. Hey, bake in a preheated oven at 180 degree for 10-12 minutes. The nuggets need to be flipped after 6-7 minutes and then baked again.
      Thanks
